The research activities under this department have emphasised on development of low cost milk production techniques, least cost feed formulation for cattle and buffaloes preparation of fodder, enrichment of less nutritious cattle fodder etc. The poultry feed added with 25% dried poultry excreta was developed by this dept. The experimental trials on zero energy chamber proved that, the milk can be stored upto 16 hrs. without any harmful effect.
The least cost ration for buffaloes is developed by this department in collaborative research work with other colleges of this university. The enrichment of sugarcane leaves and wheat straw is done by addition of 4 % urea and 2% salt to improve the palatability, digestibility and protein content in the cows fodder.
